Aid Africa's "Give Back the Gold" Garden Party

Last Saturday, just as the mercury hovered around 90, guests gathered at a private home in La Crescenta with their much of their gold and costume jewelry. At one time, this jewelry was considered precious to each of these guests, and on this day, the jewelery would truly be worth it's weight in gold.

Aid Africa is a non-profit organization dedicated towards helping children in Uganda receive food and clean water. In addition, Aid Africa spreads knowledge and demonstrates how to build stoves, drill wells, and repair damaged wells, while simultaneously providing medical care for orphans in need. These are just a few of the projects that Aid Africa has spearheaded in Northern Uganda.

At Aid Africa's "Give Back the Gold" Garden Party, guests were given the opportunity to have their gold and costume jewelry appraised and to donate the proceeds directly to Aid Africa.

What A Trade Show!

More than just a tradeshow, the Western Foodservice and Hospitality Expo was a complete learning experience for restaurateurs, caterers and world-renown chefs. From latest products, to innovative tricks of the trade, the Expo brought practical, real-life solutions that event professionals can apply to their own businesses.

In addition, demonstrations, contests and amazing food displays filled the San Diego Convention Hall from end to end, as exhibitors tempted buyers and participants to sample their items, which included anything from oysters in the half shell to countless selections of specialty champagnes.

Standout exhibits included sugar-paste floral fondant wedding cakes, a swan made of white chocolate and specially carved melons. A personal favorite was a beach bag and hat cake, complete with an IPOD and intricately designed starfish.

Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo

This Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo is taking place at the San Diego Convention Center. With over 650 leading industry suppliers, our goal is to learn about new trends in catering. Luckily, San Diego is a short two-hour drive, and some of our staff will be able to attend Sunday and Tuesday, but be back in Los Angeles for corporate luncheon in Santa Monica on Monday.

Tradeshows are a wonderful way to bridge the gap between suppliers/retailers and public consumers. Learning about all the newest innovations in foodservice helps provide Uniquely Divine's clients with the latest dishes - from their plates to the most stylish table decor, while keeping in mind affordability, durability and elegance. We'll be introduced to top of the line restaurant and catering equipment, have the opportunity to sample delectable creations made by world class chefs, and witness one-of-a-kind demonstrations from well-known celebrity chefs. And although bacon-wrapped buffalo-stuffed quinoa or wilted arugula with an ostrich and pine nuts amuse bouche may not tempt everyone's palate, we may be coaxed into sampling most delicacies served in a martini or shot glass. Everything tastes better in a martini glass.

Welcome to Uniquely Divine Event Planning's Official Blog! There are so many things to share with you about our company. First of all, Uniquely Divine is a full-service event planning company, dedicated to client satisfaction as we prepare our clients to celebrate special events in their lives. From baby showers to wedding events, graduations to anniversaries and birthdays, we specialize in all occasions that are special to YOU.

My name is Dawnee and I am the Co-Founder of Uniquely Divine.

With it's inception in January of 2008, we have successfully planned and coordinated over thirty events in California. Originally, we begun our work in Southern California, but by the end of 2008, we had formed vendor relationships with Northern California venues, florists, DJs, and hotels. This year's events have sought to bring Northern and Southern California vendors together, as we forged new relationships with fellow vendors from the Central Coast. By the end of 2009, our Preferred Vendor Referral List will include vendors from San Diego to Sacramento. Please check our blog frequently, as we will be showcasing preferred vendors in your areas!
